4th Points Show – 05 July 2026

Entries are now open for the Fourth Points Show on 5th July, very kindly sponsored by Spotless UK Cleaning.

Ahead of our next show, we wanted to raise a few points, which also appear to be being raised by other Clubs. We must all do what we can to support each other.

Every one of our members has received a copy of our 2026 Club Rules and these must be followed at all times. By entering, you also agree to abide by our Club Rules.

We hope that our rules are very clear but we want to highlight a few of them below;

  • The decision of the Judge on the day, in all classes, will be final. No competitor is to complain directly to a Judge.

It is becoming far too common for competitors and their families to directly approach Judges, or try to influence classes and decisions from outside the ring. Our Judges are all very experienced and their role must be respected.

  • Complaints must be lodged in writing to either the Secretary or Chairman with a deposit of £25.00 within 15 minutes of the class ending. The deposit will be forfeited if the objection is not sustained.

Any complaint must be made by following the rules above. We understand that not everyone will be happy/agree with every part of every show day, but Committee members should not be individually approached and asked to resolve issues. There is a process for this which, for transparency, must be followed.

  •  In any dispute the Committee’s decision is final.

We do our best to run the Club on behalf of our Members and the decisions made must therefore be accepted as final.

  •  Any abuse or defamatory behaviour to Judges, Officials, Assistants, Stewards or Competitor will not be tolerated and will result in a one year ban and loss of all points for the season.

This should go without saying but is being seen far too often across the whole of the showing circuit.

  •  Any animal not kept sufficiently under control may be asked to leave a ring or the Showfield immediately by any Judge, Steward or Official of Thornton Cleveleys and District Horse Club.

Our Committee and Judges will always do what they can to help but they must also consider the safety of others who are in and outside of the ring.

  •  The misuse/excessive use of a whip, bit, spurs or any item of saddlery in any way whatsoever, on the Showfield, is forbidden.

Misuse of aids is not acceptable on the Showfield and we will not hesitate to enforce this rule if it is seen.

  •  In the event of a clash it is up to the competitor to decide which class they will compete in. Once a class has been called competitors have a maximum of 10 minutes to enter the ring at the Judge’s discretion.

We will always do what we can to facilitate people getting to their classes but each individual Judge and Steward is responsible for their ring. You must send a representative to the Steward to let them know your whereabouts. The Judge will then make a decision on the running of the class.

The Committee of TC&DHC are ALL volunteers and the majority also have full-time jobs. We do this because we want to give back to our fellow horse riders but this is not our only job/role. If you think you could help us in any way then please come along to the AGM to join the Committee.

We would also ask that trophies are returned when asked as this creates another job for us in chasing people up.

We appreciate every single one of our competitors and hate to put out notices like this. We’ll now look forward to this weekend and another brilliant show!!!
